The Danish Livestock and Meat Board is an organisation for the Danish beef and veal sector.
The Danish Livestock and Meat Board was established in 1972 in order to ensure the agriculture and the meat trade an effective and independent common voice - also in EU which Denmark joined the same year.
Our members are cattle slaughterhouses and companies, processing plants and commercial undertak-ings within the beef and veal sector.
The activities of the Meat Board are financed by fees from the member organizations, by user fees, and by funds.
The main objects of the organization are:
- to look after the common interests of the Danish cattle and beef sector as a whole in dealing with public authorities and other institutions in Denmark as well as in other countries;
- to encourage improvement of profits within the various links of the beef sector, i.e. from produc-ing and processing to marketing;
- to encourage the collaboration among the various members of the Board;
- to solve or assist in matters of common interest within the cattle and beef sector.
The Meat Board is situated in Copenhagen.
